Even though this is not the original cabin, it was still quite inspiring to see a spot that provided Laura with the experience that would allow her to write one of her books. This cabin is still ideally set in Wisconsin woods and it is clear to see why it was the backdrop for "Little House in the Big Woods." It is about a 20 minute drive from the museum in Pepin, WI but very much well worth the detour.
