Horrible experience. A real nightmare. Profits over people. We have been going to Forward for a few years and before this year it was ok(not great). My 6 year old had an appt late last year where he was given a clean checkup. In April of this year we took him to find out he had a few cavities. Upon taking him back to get them taken care of we were then told that he needed a crown which meant that over the last 4-6 months he not only developed a few cavities but one got bad. So we had that crown put in as we were told if we didn't other major problems could result. We then scheduled a followup to get the other cavities filled. We were initially told it was just to have them filled. When we came back to have those taken care of we were now told that he needed multiple crowns(each to be done on separate appts) and had up to 9 cavities. We inquired why this wasn't told to us initially and got no straight answers. No communication came directly from the dentists themselves either which was odd. It was all from administrative people. At this point we then decided to seek a 2nd (and 3rd) opinion. We asked for them to send Xrays and what they sent was a joke. They sent partial Xray images of the ends of approx 6-8 teeth(see image). Could not see the root or any decay. Our other dentists confirmed that either the dentist was not sending the actual xRays or they did not appear to be done by someone who knew what they were doing. In addition the 2nd opinion dentists confirmed what we suspected that "no" major work needed to be done. The 2nd opinion dentists did a full thorough inspection and not just a check of the xRays. So these dentists at Forward dental decided to Prey on a 6 year old(and his protective parents) and put him through all sorts of procedures just to appease management. As a parent we often wouldn't question a professional as to what is best for our kids. They indicated that if these procedures were not done it could lead to major issues going forward. They were using scare tactics.
People need to watch these dental agencies that run multiple offices and often are managed and run by business people and not true dentists.
They'll look at the bottom line before they look at quality of service. I seldom do these reviews but just hope that no one else has to go through the same thing that we did. Attached below is the Xray image they sent us.
