Prices are a little above what they should be but that is so they can offer you a rebate to bring it down some. The rebates really are not a rebate since the prices are jacked up to begin with. They do offer a large selection of merchandise. I might shop there more often if they either brought the prices down a little or offer onsite rebates not mail in where it takes six months to get it back.

I traveled from WI to St. Louis to help my son build a 20x20 carport. He paid for all supplies that were planned for by Menards for the project. He told them when the supplies were required approximately 3 wks in advance. A few days before the build date, he called to confirm delivery, but was told the supplies could not be delivered in that time frame because another project needed the delivery resources. He rented a truck and we met him at Menards on our arrival to load and unload 1/2 of the needed supplies so we would not be delayed. We were assured the balance of the supplies would be delivered about 10:00 the next AM. That would be fine, since we would be busy with the framing lumber up to that point. 10:00 turns to 12;00 turns to 2:00 turns to 5:00 with repeated calls looking for our much needed supplies. Truck finally arrives at 6:30 and the 3/4 inch OSB for the roof is actually sanded oak plywood - completely unacceptable for the project. It is labeled as OSB. We then went to Home Depot and bought the OSB and brought it back to finish the roof in the dark. At no point on Saturday when we were looking for the delivery did anyone give us a straight answer. We were still missing supplies that Menards should've included on the order since they mapped out our "Bill of goods" as a "Service". We should not have trusted them on so many levels. I will be sharing this story with many friends in the construction business, so ultimately it will hurt Menards more than the delays and the misinformation cost us.
