I had a pretty good experience with Budget. On a Sunday morning my regular car wouldn't start and had to be towed to a mechanic. I needed a rental and made the reservation online at 11am, picked it up at 11:30am. I reserved the cheapest available (economy), however the next level up is all that was available (compact) which was an extra $2/day. The inside wasn't vacuumed and the gas tank was at 3/4 full. I didn't mind and just needed a reliable vehicle to get to work while my car was getting fixed. The defects were noted and I didn't receive any extra charges. I returned the vehicle Wednesday evening and it would cost $139, however they credited me back $7 for returning it with a full tank, $132 total. I considered renting cars on TURO, however it was cheaper to go with Budget.
