Our 2.5 yr old lab swallowed likely underwear and couldn't get it out on his own. We came in on a Sunday and he ended up needing surgery to remove the fabric from his stomach and intestines. The surgery was in the middle of the night and we were incredibly scared and sad. It has been a really tough and emotional 4-5 days, but throughout our whole experience every staff member we encountered was so kind and wonderful. They treated him as though he was their own, giving him snuggles and trying anything they possibly could to help him gain his appetite back. We felt very comfortable that he was in wonderful care. He ended up staying 4 days to recover as his system just took a while to start up again. We are so thankful we chose VES. We are now home and crossing our fingers he never does anything like this again, but if he does we know where to go!
Communication with them was fantastic. My dog has a mystery spine injury that was very scary and nerve-wracking to deal with. They were very on top of it, gave me different options and recommendations, gave me high and low estimates of the costs which stayed accurate, and called me anytime there was an update. I ultimately transfed to the UW veterinarian to see a specialist, but would definitely recommend them in an emergency, and grateful for the support they gave me during a difficult time.
