This past weekend I visited Sydney B.'s for the first time with my 4 year old son. We were exchanging a gift he had received for his birthday and he was beyond elated to be able to pick something else out. When we provided the gift receipt and product we were returning (a puzzle still sealed in the original packaging), we were told the return could not be accepted because it was past the allotted return policy of 2 weeks. I had not noticed this return policy on the receipt and reiterated we weren't looking to return it for money or credit, simply an exchange for something else, even willing to purchase something MORE expensive. I was then rudely told the return couldn't be accepted because I was "well over" the return policy's time frame (by 2 weeks) and it just "couldn't be done." When I pointed out that the store is STILL selling that same puzzle right there on the shelf next to where we were standing it made no difference. I would have requested to speak with a manager, but come to find out, it was the store owner and manager that provided this service to me. I then had to explain to my 4 year old that the reason he was not leaving with an exchanged item of his choice was due to the extremely poor customer service we received. We will not be returning to Sydney B.'s again and instead will continue to support and recommend The Cedarburg Toy Company to all of our friends and family.
