Run. Run while you still can. Kathy is miserable to work with and her husband, Irv, is even worse. Let's start with Irv: He's the 'maintenance' man of the apartments/duplexes/exc, and he does an absolute horrible job- cheapest parts, doesn't know how to fix anything, is incredibly RUDE when he comes into your houses. I don't care if he owns the places, he can be mindful that they're lived in by another person(s). He once told us that our place was a disaster. It wasn't the most clean of places, but it certainly was not a dump. He's not very smart and is difficult to understand because of his mumble mouth (and gets irritated when you ask him to repeat his words), also made crass comments regarding pets, my cat specifically. And while on the subject of pets, good luck getting these idiots to even bother with being decent about them- much less if you have reptiles. Repeatedly I was asked to remove (and / or cover up their tanks) my animals from the duplex- not because they weren't allowed, they WERE FULY APPROVED AND KNOWN ABOUT and were ALL on the lease. But because there 'were conflicting superstitions' or some BS like that, she didn't want to even have them in the home when she was in it and / or showing the apartments. It went so far that when Kathy showed the apartment, she looked at my tanks and then sneered in a disgusted manner, and closed my door from the showing. She is incredibly disrespectful and rather dull witted when it comes to tact. They do NOTHING for complains regarding neighbors and their ways of throwing garbage and weed smoke everywhere, including my personal backyard. Do you like quiet? Well go someplace else, these people do nothing about neighborhood children running around your yards or damaging your items. On multiple occasions we found pamphlets for Jehovah's Witness(es?) shoved into our doorway. Once we caught her doing it herself and decided to confront her about it- she continued to blab about how we should convert but shut up really quick about her unwanted religion when we began to recite the 11 rules of LaVey satanism. Though that didn't stop the pamphlets though, they were like a hailstorm of stupidity constantly appearing under our feet in our entryway. They lost our rent check once and we knew very well that we payed. We informed her that we placed our checks into her mailbox on her personal home/office, and then magically they showed up- she still tried to charge us. When we requested receipts for our checks, we got them sporadically and without official documentation. We received, in our mailbox from prior other tenants, a paper regarding their attempted ways of stealing money from tenants after their departure (please continue reading for my personal experience regarding this). Upon moving out, Kathy begun to speak via text message (unprofessional) rather than through face to face or phone interactions, and asked us if 'we were coming back to clean as x, y, and z, was still dirty'. These things were not dirty and were scrubbed as per their personally delivered 'to do upon moveout' snotty list. They therein continued on to say the entire carpet in the whole house was trashed (it wasn't), and demanded our new addresses continually- they were not provided as she already had a $750+ security deposit check to fall back upon. None of which was returned to us. TL;DR: They're awful people, slam their religion in your face repeatedly, are disrespectful toward your pets and homes, and cannot keep a record of their money at ALL. Stay away, stay far, far away. Even the crappiest places in menomonie are better than these morons. P.S: I've overheard her say 'she doesn't read online reviews' because 'they're lies'. So she's not out to better herself or the lives of her tenants- they're money grubbing idiots who try and swindle cash out of college kids and families.
We have had a very hard time getting these people to admit they received payments, had charges entered into our account that were not accurate or fair -- and while those things happen in business -- these elderly business owners refused to admit that there were errors and just kept saying they hadn't been paid -- as they held the copies of the cancelled checks. Humm -- that is our experience -- so be careful that it is not yours. Several years ago when our neighbors complained about similar problems, we didn't pay much attention -- NOW WE UNDERSTAND -- be very careful. Check out their reviews.
