I had recently purchased a used Lexus vehicle and was only given a single valet key. At the time, I was not aware that the valet key could not be simply duplicated at my local hardware store due to the security chip. After being told by two Lexus dealers that I would need to get a "new ECU" and that it would be "very expensive" - I searched the internet and discovered that my key could be cloned and a duplicate could be made by a qualified locksmith. I called several locksmiths in Milwaukee and was lucky that one referred me to Professional Safe and Lock. I made an appointment for the next day and within twenty minutes I had two new duplicate keys for my car and my problem was solved for a reasonable price.
