I'm from New York and did not know of any car service centers in the area when I moved here. My engine light came on the other day, and with a sinking feeling, I asked around for any recommendations for a mechanic. Called a few places and the charge was $90-$100 to run the computer and check the codes to find the problem; some places would or would not apply that fee to the cost to fix. I called Mag's and they told me it would be free to check it out; so of course I made the appointment. Just got back from my appointment and it literally took 5 minutes to run the scan and interpret. They told me that they remembered that my car had a recall on some of the codes back in 2010 and were going to look into whether or not I was still covered. Turns out I still was and they printed out all the information I needed and called my car's dealership service center to make an appointment for me and verified my coverage. Left the shop not paying a thing and I would have given them 100 bucks just because they were so great. I will definitely be taking my car to them from now on.
