I saw Dr. Mehta only for a few months. The first time I saw her I told her my concerns about my ADHD and she prescribed me 36mg of methylphenidate. The next time I saw her, as she was looking up my information on the computer she asked me, "Who put you on such a strong dose of methylphenidate?" and I had to remind her that she had prescribed me that. Then one of the next time I saw her I tried to talk to her about my severe anxiety along with a few other physical issues and she completely ignored my concerns and only seemed concerned with having me take a urine drug test to make sure I was still taking my methylphenidate. I saw her again a month later and she told me the test had come back completely negative (which is impossible because I take my pills every morning) and had me take another saying if I failed again she would not be giving me another prescription, effectively cutting me off cold turkey from the methylphenidate which I've been told by multiple doctors is a very bad thing to do. After not hearing from her for days, I had to call her office to find out the results and they told me it had come back negative again, and that she would not be giving me any more prescriptions for my methylphenidate nor for anything else including my anxiety. When I went back to the office the next day with proof I had taken my last pill that morning I asked for another drug test so that if the results came back negative again I would have proof I had taken the pill that morning and therefore would be able to show the test results were not accurate, but they refused to give me another retest under any circumstances and literally told me I had to go without my pills and deal with the withdrawal symptoms even though I worked the next day and if it was too bad they told me to go to the ER or urgent care. For my ADHD withdrawals. That they were causing. Because they refused to give me another drug test which would prove I had been taking my pills the whole time and that they were the ones who had messed up.
But honestly even without all that happening I just got the feeling with her that she wasn't very concerned about my mental health concerns or issues, which is one of the main reasons I had started going to see the doctor in the first place. So anybody looking for a caring, understanding doctor that wants what is best for your mind and body, LOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE.
