Very disappointed! Two bad tires, and bad customer service
I am extremely disappointed with Ed’s Used Tires, and will not be going back. Not only was I a previous customer, but I had (in the past) even given them around 20 tires for free that were still good and still had some wear left in them.
I went there to purchase two front tires. It should have been a simple transaction that only required one visit to the store. They installed a tire that was bad, later replaced it for free, only to find out that the replacement tire was bad as well. At that point they refused to take care of me as a customer.
First visit – purchased two used tires for the front of a minivan. Then afterwards, the vehicle had a bad vibration in front afterwards at highway speeds. The vibration had not been there in the past.
Second visit – they recommended replacing my right rear tire also (which I think was fine). After replacing it, the vehicle still had the vibration.
Third visit – they rotated the right side tires, swapped the front and rear tires. After that, the vehicle still had the vibration.
Fourth visit – they replaced the right rear tire at no charge, they thought it probably had a bubble in it. They gave me a different used tire instead. The new (used) tire looked great, with lots of tread remaining. The vibration was improved.
Fifth visit – the replacement right rear tire was losing air. They said the valve stem was leaking, and replaced the valve stem at no charge.
Sixth visit – the right rear tire was still losing air. This time they identify a small nail in the sidewall, which could not be repaired. The owner/manager Linda refused to replace the tire for free – instead they wanted to sell me yet another replacement tire. I think the nail was in there the whole time. That tire never held air correctly after they sold it to me.
Another tire shop said they thought that nail had been the tire for a long time.
There is another used tire nearby in Kenosha – I recommend visiting them instead.
