The restaurant was busy,s so when the hostess said it would be a 30-45 minutes we were willing to wait. However when people were getting seated before us and it had been 45 minutes we decided to inquire. The hostess was rude and snapped that it was because we did not call ahead. She may need to take a course on how to better deal with her customers. Once we were seated, we had to wait even longer for the waitress. She took our order which included drinks from the bar, appetizers and the main course. She brought the soup without any crackers. She brought the drinks later with an apology for taking so long. We were almost done with one of the appetizers when we had to reminder her that the other appetizer never came. She apologized for forgetting and was willing to go get it but we declined because we were ready for dinner. She told us the main entries were ready in the kitchen and she just needed to go get them. We are not sure where she went and wished we had the other appetizer to tide us over during our wait. She had far too many tables and customers to take care of properly. In fact the restaurant had too many tables in a small area and the noise was almost unbearable. We were unable to hear each other speak across the table. In addition to being overwhelmed by noise, the wait and buss staff had no where to walk so they kept accidentally bumping into the back of our chairs jolting our body as we were taking a drink. Our frustrations grew as we waited for our food and the tables next to us, which was seated after us, had been served and in mid meal by the time we got our food. The food quality was between good and excellent. The fish was good and the steak was cook just as requested. The carrot cake was fantastic and by far the best part of the entire experience.
Fabulous Duck. The atmosphere was wonderful. It was decked out for Christmas. I thought the food was fantastic and I'd dine here again. I've got to say my service was slow and if not for that it would be 5 stars. I asked why there was such a fantastic restaurant in the middle of nowhere -which is what it seems like when you're from out of state. The hostess said they're on the way to everywhere but in the middle of nowhere. I was thrilled to find it on the highway in the middle of nowhere. I hope to dine here again and will tell all my Midwestern friends and family.
