Ashwaubomay Lake

Great place to go swimming in the city as it has a Sandy beach that is clean and it's of decent size. They also have a shallow end for the little ones. If you're little ones can't swim yet and need a flotation device keep in mind they don't allow water wings. "Coast Guard approved (Type 2 and Type 3) life jackets will be allowed at the lake. Water wings, inner tubes, air mattresses, and any other artificial swim aids are not allowed" It can get pretty crowded depending on the day. The only complaint I have is I wish they had more shade spots, especially on the shallow end of the lake so the little kids have somewhere to go near by to get out of the sun and play in the sand.
